A fixture of Disneyland dating back to its opening day in 1955, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is an iconic part of the hugely successful theme park, and if Walt Disney Pictures get their way it will soon be a major motion picture. This is the latest in a baffling line of theme park properties becoming movie projects at Disney, and it may well be the silliest attempt yet.

Battleship torpedoes the rest of the competition.
Yes, I know battleships don't use torpedoes. Shut up.
A new international poster for Rupert Sanders’ Snow White And The Huntsman has been released this week.

With the recent news that Gary Ross will not be directing The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, the hunt for a director continues as Lionsgate eye-up a number of canditates to fill the job, as the list that already comprises of Alfonso Cuaron, David Cronenberg and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, now also includes the addition of Bennett Miller and Francis Lawrence.

On September 3rd (or mid-August if you're a lucky American), Universal will release a special blu-ray edition of Steven Spielberg's seafaring masterpiece Jaws, complete with a full high-definition restoration from the original camera negative, a 7.1 surround soundtrack, and an Orca-full of extras including the excellent and exhaustive documentary The Shark Is Still Working. It will also include the original mono soundtrack. For some, this begs the question - what is mono?
Haters will decry Peter Berg’s Battleship as a Michael Bay-esque monstrosity that panders unapologetically to the lowest common denominator, much like Bay’s heinous destruction of the good name Transformer. That would do a disservice to Berg’s picture, which whilst undeniably stupid and utterly over the top is by no means as bad as Bay’s pantheon of crap. In fact the biggest crime that can be levelled at Battleship is that it lacks one single original idea in its bloated 131 minute running time.
The information about Ghosbusters 3 is fast turning into its own soap opera, with more twists and turns than the average Walford narrative. The latest development comes courtesy of Bill Murray himself who suggests that he may still be appearing in the project.

Darren Aronofsky’s next film, Noah, is set to weigh anchor on 28 March 2014. Thankfully that gives us plenty of time to gather two of every animal.
Last week saw the release of Battleship, Peter Berg's Bay-esque explosion extravaganza based on the Hasbro board game of the same name. With that in mind, I decided that this week's Multiplex Goes Retro will be looking at the original film based on a board game, 1985's Clue, named after the US version of Cluedo. I first caught Clue on one of those late night channel-hopping quests and it seemed like a fairly decent comedy but, as I only watched half an hour the first time round, now seems like a perfect time to revisit it.
