Title of Apes Sequel Destroys the Fabric of Time

rise of the-planet of the apes

The Planet of the Apes reboot opened last year with critical praise and the promise of an exciting franchise. But Hollywood just wouldn’t be Hollywood unless it did something effortlessly stupid.

After Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it was a given that the sequel would come with its own clunky title. And now 20th Century Fox has announced the name of 2014’s anticipated sequel will be Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Now, perhaps I am being terribly pedantic, but I naturally assume something has to 'Dawn' before it can 'Rise'. That’s what the sun does. That’s what Romero’s zombies did. It seems like such a tiny detail which could cause a fussy girl like me such a horrid migraine.

Perhaps Early Morning of the Planet of the Apes, or Brunch of the Planet of the Apes, or Looks like Rain Later on the Planet of the Apes…

Whatever the title, the film is scheduled for a May 23rd, 2014 release.

"Looks like rain later on The Planet of The Apes" Hahaha. I liked that one. But I completely agree, it's an unnecessarily confusing title. I guess they can call it whatever they want because people will go and see it. Rise of the planet of the apes was such a good film that left a lot of room for the sequel to be just as good, if not surpass it.
