Destitute Transformers 3 Returns To IMAX, Also Accepting Donations

23 Aug

If you had absolutely any interest in the latest Transformers adventure then it's likely you already paid to see Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. Possibly multiple times, since - at the time of writing - it is the fifth highest grossing movie of all time (worldwide) and just a hair's breadth away from toppling The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King.

Not content with being fifth in line for the throne, Michael Bay's ode to idiocy will be returning to IMAX & IMAX 3D in two-hundred and forty-six North American cinemas with some slight technical tweaking to justify this shameless cash grab:

“Transformers: Dark of the Moon: An IMAX 3D Experience has been digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology for presentation in IMAX 3D.”

The movie already looked great, so I doubt it was the production value keeping away any stragglers. There is no clear word on whether this re-mastered re-release will be touching down in any other territories, but I would put down good money that this will happen.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon will return to commit GBH upon your senses from August 26th.

He fell in love with movies after a double-bill of The Empire Strikes Back & Return of The Jedi at the tender age of four. His favourite film is Goodfellas, his favourite director is Martin Scorsese, his favourite actor is Paul Newman. Caught you off guard there, eh? You were expecting Robert De Niro or something.
