Sound OK? Watch the newly-released clips courtesy of Collider. Well, I suppose Statham (The Expendables) is good at what he does. Killer Elite promises plenty of testosterone-fuelled SAS action, bomb explosions, and Statham flinging himself recklessly into desert tunnels and over death-defying drops. Oh and there's lots of guns as well. It always surprises me that these men can stand directly in front of each other and miss each other's shots pretty reliably, despite being extremely 'ard killing machines. But I'll let that one slide. A bit like Statham does, whenever he finds himself on a rooftop.
To be honest, it's probably too easy to criticise this type of film – pulled from a standard action-movie template which will draw in those looking for a testosterone fix, which, to be fair, the film will do very well. There's nothing like watching some real men packing punches to remind you of your own virility; as well as flippant, 007-style remarks for ultimate manliness.
The film is released into cinemas on September 23rd, but despite the high volume of explosive behind the camera, it seems unlikely to make much of an impact.
