Out of absolutely nowhere, Atonement and Anna Karenina director Joe Wright has emerged as the frontrunner to direct the upcoming film adaptation of erotic smash hit novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

Emma Watson is breaking free of her ‘good girl’ image with her role in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring, if the latest trailer is anything to go by.
In the film, based on a true story, Watson and her cronies rob the houses of multiple Hollywood personalities whilst they are out doing press appearances in order to get a slice of celebrity culture… and celebrity cash. The trailer shows all manner of drama, from partying to burglary and guns.

An enticing concept image has been released for the upcoming motion capture adaptation of George Orwell novel Animal Farm.
Andy Serkis is developing the movie with the help of his own studio, The Imaginarium. Serkis, famed for his performance capture work on Lord of the Rings and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, said that the new Animal Farm utilised an “amalgamation of filming styles” to create an innovative movie experience.

Pixar have released another trailer for Monsters University, the upcoming prequel to 2001 animated hit Monsters, Inc. Focusing on Mike and Sulley’s college days, the prequel is to show how the two monsters went from being wildly different roommates to the best friends of the first movie.

In news that will thrill fans of British comedy, upcoming Simon Pegg comedy The World’s End has had its UK release date shunted forward to 19th July, according to director Edgar Wright.
