Oliver Stone has always maintained how proud he is of his much maligned historical epic, Alexander. The version that reached cinema screens was never quite to his liking and after it’s initial DVD release, there soon followed a shortened and tightened-up director's cut. Two years after that, however, Stone went back to the editing room again and released an all-singing-all-dancing mammoth Final Cut on DVD, which came in at a arse-numbing 3.5 hours long. The Final Cut in particular was far more warmly received but, even still, was hardly embraced by film lovers and critics alike.
Well, not one to be perturbed, Oliver Stone announced this week that he was considering a fourth and possibly final swing at completing his masterpiece...
